WickerICE is a community funded & community maintained, non-refrigerated outdoor ice skating rink.

The 60' x 120' rink is open to anyone with their own skates with no admission charge when the ice is frozen. Skate times and Field House hours are subject to change based on weather and ice conditions. WickerICE is managed and maintained by Wicker Park Advisory Council's WickerICE committee working in Partnership with the Chicago Park District and 1st Ward Alderman Joe Moreno.

Hours for All Ages Free Skate, Stick & Puck* and Kid’s Skating Lessons* are announced every Monday on our Facebook page.

*Must sign appropriate waiver below and volunteer

STICK & PUCK

All players must wear a helmet and are expected to help resurface the ice after playing. You must also read and sign the new waiver after November 1, 2018 and bring the confirmation with you to play.

kids skate lessons

We offer free ice skating lessons for children ages 5 - 12 from 10:00am - 11:00am on Saturdays from January 5 - February 23, weather permitting. Lessons are free, however parents are required to sign up for 1 hour of volunteer time (or make a donation to the rink) and sign a waiver which must be brought to the lesson.

we need your help!

We can only keep WickerICE going with the involvement of people like you from the community. Whether it's monitoring the rink on weekends, re-surfacing the ice at night (required after Stick & Puck), helping with snow removal or with fundraisers, we need you to keep the rink running.
